Q&E Services attended site under the instruction to drain down Caspian House. Engineers reported to the security office to sign in & liaise with site management team on the location of mechanical plant, obtaining access keys for plant room & building’s internal offices.
Engineers gained access to the external plant room. Plumbers isolated the incoming water main at the main isolation valve, twin pump pressurisation unit was shut down & manually isolated on rotary isolators, control panel isolated on localised fuse spur, & cold water storage tank was drained down with the use of hoses from drain cock.
Plumbers entered the kitchen / tea point & reviewed the hot water arrangement within services cupboard, electrical services to the water after cylinder were isolated on rotary isolators to begin the drain down.
Plumbers then went around the building to each toilet & opened all tap outlets to allow volume of water within the system to drain out. All toilets were flushed thoroughly to ensure cisterns were empty & wet vacs were utilised to remove residual water to prevent legionella issues.
Q&E Services completed the decommissioning works at Atlantic Business Park in Liverpool to enable formal handover to the demolition contractor.
